Shipping and Canada Post

Our standard cut-off time is 12PM PST Monday-Thursday. Although we try our best, there are rare occurrences where cut-off time may be missed. There may also be times where you may order past cut-off time and we will include your order that same day.

For long weekends where Canada Post is closed on Friday, cut off on that MONDAY will be 10am PST. For long weekends where Canada Post is closed on Monday, cut off on that TUESDAY will be 10am PST.

If it is extremely important for you to make it by cut-off time and you are very close to it, please contact us via email at [email protected]

Once your order is ready for shipment, we will send you an email with your tracking number attached before it has been scanned in at Canada Post. Until it has been scanned in on their end, your tracking number will not be traceable on the Canada Post website.

Please allow Canada Post up to 24 hours to update your tracking number. If it hasn’t been updated by the end of the next day, please email us at [email protected]

If you’re tracking your package on the Canada Post website and it looks like it’s headed to the wrong city, it’s most likely due to human error at Canada Post. Human errors happen on occasion as the postal employee has to manually enter each postal code in the system and if they are off by a digit/letter, it can cause a routing error and subsequent delay of 1-2 days.

If you entered in an incorrect address, unfortunately we cannot cover your package. We recommend sending us an e-mail to [email protected] and we will try our best to find a solution for you.

If you do not get your package 2 days after the expected arrival date, please reach out to us at [email protected].

Every situation is different, but we’re here to help!

Below is a general guideline:

If your address was provided to us incorrectly, we DO NOT cover your order.

If your package was delivered to you and tampered with or stolen by Canada Post, we DO NOT cover your order. Although this may happen, we will handle it on a case by case basis. We will require your help to submit as much evidence as possible.

If your package was Returned to Sender, Return to sender typically occurs when: invalid address, invalid address on label, person not at address, no suite number, no buzzer number, rejected by concierge, rejected by person at the address, etc.

Please contact us at [email protected] if you have any concerns regarding your package.

There are 2 likely scenarios here:

a) the postal worker put it in the wrong mailbox, or

b) what often happens is that a postal worker will scan in all the packages saying they were “successfully delivered” then spend that day and/or the next day delivering it.

If you do not get your package 2 days after the expected delivery date, please let us know @ [email protected] . We do NOT cover any lost parcels after it has been marked delivered. If you have any questions or have a problem with your shipment, please do contact us, and we will try our best to help you.

It all depends on your location in Canada. We ship all items via Canada Post. Under normal circumstances, your package is expected to be delivered in one to three business days. If you live in rural locations, occasionally it may take one to three days longer.

Please see the Canada Post web page for information on possible delays in your area.

Cannabis grading explained

Whether you’re a seasoned recreational weed smoker, a medical marijuana user, or if you’re new to the wonderful world of cannabis, one thing remains a constant – we all learn to judge the quality of cannabis.

Smokey’s Cannabis Grading System offers a clear and concise way of determining cannabis quality that everyone can easily recognize. Grades are not related to a strain in particular, but to a specific batch provided by our farmers. Each batch is assessed separately to give it the most adequate grade.

What are the different Grades of Cannabis?

Singles (A) – Most affordable option
Dubs (AA)
– Flower for budget-minded consumers
Trips (AAA) – Amazing cultivators grown to perfection
Quads (AAAA) – Unique, top shelf craft cannabis, the best of the best

A Grade Cannabis (Singles)

Cost:

A graded strains (singles) are the most inexpensive option. All A-graded ounces are NOT eligible for reimbursements. This grade is a great option for low-tolerance smokers and those that make their own edibles and extracts.

Appearance:

The buds will range from small-sized dense buds to medium-sized dense buds and are often darker or can have shades of brown. Singles may contain stems or seeds, lacking in potency, bud structure and low cannabinoid content, which is reflected in the pricing and grading.

Bottom Line:

A Grade Cannabis is the most affordable flower available. They can also be used for making concentrates and edibles, so A grade weed provides value if that is your intention for it.

AA Grade Cannabis (Dubs)

Cost:

If you’re looking for quality cannabis on a budget, AA graded strains (dubs) are the perfect option. AA cannabis is a mid-grade weed that will give you value for your money. All AA-graded ounces are NOT eligible for reimbursements.

Appearance:

The buds will range from small-sized to medium-sized buds. The high you get from dubs will offer a very nice buzz without completely draining your pocket. At times, dubs may contain stems or seeds, which is reflected in the pricing and grading.

Bottom Line:

AA Grade Cannabis have higher quality buds than A Grade strains. They are also a great option for those looking to make their own extracts and edibles.

AAA Grade Cannabis (Trips)

Cost:

AAA Cannabis (trips) are the grade most people consume, as it’s considered the most common on the market. Trips offer a wide range of hybrids and strains. This quality of cannabis delivers a good to potent high.

Appearance:

AAA grade cannabis (trips), have most of the characteristics of the AAAA grade but with less bud density. The buds come in a range from small-sized to medium-sized buds. Trips have an extremely high CBD and THC potency, and you can expect the strain to deliver almost maximum potency and feel the full effects of THC contained within.

Bottom Line:

AAA Grade Cannabis is good quality flower for the everyday consumer. The smokes are smooth, and the flavours are delicious.

AAAA Grade Cannabis (Quads)

Cost:

AAAA grade cannabis (quads) comes at a premium price and will rank high in all criteria including THC/CBD content, aesthetics, bud size, trichome, and terpenoid content. At this level, aromas are pungent, dank, and decidedly pleasing with a nice smooth clean burning smoke.

Appearance:

AAAA cannabis has an overall coloration with hints of purple, green and orange. It doesn’t have a harsh aftertaste, which is a great sign of a high-quality cannabis level.

Bottom Line:

AAAA cannabis (quads) is premium weed that is considered to be the best of the best. Quads are usually as high as the grading system goes.

What Are Edibles?

Edibles are a convenient and discreet way to enjoy your cannabis. Edible cannabis products are infused with cannabis extracts, or concentrates, all of which contain active ingredients such as tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD).

How Do They Work?

THC and other active ingredients in edible cannabis products are absorbed into the body through the digestive tract. They enter the bloodstream and travel to the liver, where they are metabolized and released back into the bloodstream. These active ingredients then enter the brain and the rest of the central nervous system, potentially producing an effect.

The high that comes from smoking cannabis and eating cannabis is pretty much the same overall. However, the way you consume the marijuana determines how your body is going to process the THC and CBD, the main compounds in cannabis. The way your body processes these compounds determines everything from how long it takes for your high to peak to how much kick the high is going to have.

When you smoke or vape cannabis, your body is absorbing all the THC, CBD, and other cannabinoids directly through your lungs. Those compounds immediately go into your bloodstream, providing smokers with a high that peaks in about 5 to 15 minutes.

Ingesting cannabis through edibles, on the other hand, means your body need to go through the digestion process. The edibles are absorbed through the stomach (like any other food), and then pass through your intestine, and on to the liver. At this point, the THC is broken down by the liver and allowed to finally enter into your bloodstream.

Because of this, edibles produce a high that doesn’t peak for 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the edible, your metabolism, and your THC / CBD tolerance.

Suggested Use

Cannabis affects everyone differently.

◈Please read product labels carefully to determine dose and amount of servings in each package.
◈ The average dose amount is 10mg per piece.
◈The effect of edibles is only temporary and last between 4 – 6 hours and are stronger on an empty stomach.

What are CBD Tinctures?

CBD Tinctures are solutions that mix CBD oil with other ingredients. Some of these extra ingredients can be other oils or terpenes, designed to maximise the potency of the solution. The reason for this is that its designed to enhance the CBD absorption into the body, increasing the effects on normal CBD oil.
The reason many people choose these is because they have a greater effect. As the CBD is amplified and enhanced by the additional ingredients, it gives a greater effect on the body and increases the beneficial uses, such as for sleeping aid, pain relief etc, the effects are greater and therefore better received by the user.

Why do People Take Them?

People take CBD tinctures for various reasons, but there are a few common reasons as to why people will take them.
One reason is that one of the effects is a nights sleep is greatly improved. People often take CBD before they head to bed to help them enjoy a better nights sleep, waking up refreshed and feeling replenished. Another is that it helps the person to better manage stress, helping to alleviate some of the feelings associated with stress. This can be a big one to help people during their day-to-day lifestyles, improving the quality of life.

What’s the right dosage?

Often when we are trying anything for the first time, we usually want to begin at low doses and increase gradually. The majority of daily CBD users will find that a dose between 10 and 20mg (administered once or twice daily) is enough to provide effective therapeutic relief from a variety of common ailments. For some users, a dose as low as 5-10mg will maintain sufficient relief when taken intermittently throughout the day (morning, afternoon/early evening, and before bed).

Here at Smokey’s Cannabis Lounge, we like to use the “start low and go slow” method.

Each consumer is different and will find that a different dosage may work for them than others. This is why we suggest starting low, and gradually increasing to find the optimal dosage for you. You may find that your initial dose is sufficient for long-lasting relief throughout the day, or, you may find that the relief wears off after several hours and you may need to re-dose throughout the day.

One of the benefits of CBD is that it has very little adverse side effects, if any at all. Some users find that amounts exceeding 30mg/day is necessary for their relief, while others find that 5mg doses twice a day is sufficient.

Users can be reassured knowing there are absolutely no psychoactive effects of CBD, even at higher mg doses. This means we can carry-on with normal daily activities, without any impairment.

What are Terpenes?

Terpenes are non-psychoactive therapeutic compounds found in almost all plants across the plant kingdom. They are responsible for the aromas of different cannabis strains, as well as therapeutic essential oils such as lavender or chamomile.

Individual terpenes (such as Limonene, Myrcene, a-Pinene, Linalool, Terpinolene etc.) collectively makeup the full-aroma of essential oils, while each separate compound has its own unique therapeutic benefits and can be extracted individually. We use these isolated terpenes to add therapeutic synergy to our CBD oil tinctures.

◈Myrcene
One of the most abundant terpenes found in cannabis, it is famous for its earthy and spicy aromas. Myrcene is most well known for its sedative effects, which is typical to indica strains of cannabis and may assist with sleep-disorders. Myrcene has anti-proliferative, analgesic and muscle relaxant responses, which may provide relief from chronic pain, inflammation and excessive cell growth in tumors.

◈Alpha-Pinene
Alpha-pinene (Pinene) is the most common naturally occurring terpene in the world, it is responsible for the refreshing aroma of pine trees. Alpha-Pinene possesses anti-inflammatory and bronchodilating properties potentially helpful for asthmatics. It also promotes alertness, focus and memory retention. This may help combat mood disorders, as well as the anxious effects sometimes caused by THC.

◈Linalool
Linalool is a naturally occurring terpene found in many flowers and spices including lavender and coriander. It gives off a complex yet delicate floral aroma, and while its effects are myriad, it is in particular one of the substances used most widely to reduce stress.

◈Limonene
This terpene has a sweet citrusy and refreshing aroma, similar to that of lime or lemons. Limonene can have anxiolytic properties which may assist with anxiety and depression, as well as antibacterial, antifungal and antiproliferative properties which may reduce cancer cell-growth. It can also aid with acid reflux.

◈Terpinolene
Terpinolene is a cannabis terpene that displays a piney or woody aroma with hints of citrus and herbal spice. Terpinolene can also be found in sage, rosemary, apples, tea trees, cumin and nutmeg. Typically found in sativa strains such as the famous Jack Herer, Terpinolene offers a mildly sedative effect and reduces anxiety as the body and mind simultaneously calm.
